BallBuster is a concentrated clay dispersant and drilling fluid thinner that should be used to treat bit balling and drill pipe when drilling sticky, swelling clays. BallBuster is a white powder that can be added to the drilling fluid system as a thinner or directly down the drill pipe to clean the bit and drill string.
ClayBreaker is an extremely effective drilling fluid additive to control sticky and / or swelling clays. ClayBreaker aggressively breaks the bonds that bind native clay particles together, allowing them to flow more freely through a bore annulus without sticking back together creating bit balling, or forming bridges in the annulus or clay rings on the drill pipe. When used properly ClayBreaker will not alter drilling fluid rheology.
ClayBreaker Ⅱ is a liquid clay inhibitor used to reduce bit balling, clay accumulation and sticking problems experienced when drilling reactive clay soils. This product can be used in all bentonite and non-bentonite based drilling fluid systems. ClayBreaker Ⅱ is NSF Standard 60 certified.
ClayRipper Sticks are self-dissolving tubes filled with fine ground walnut hulls that help shear sticky clays from the bit and bottom hole assembly. ClayRipper Sticks can be added directly down the drill pipe on connection. These convenient sticks will cut clay and clear the annulus.
ClayThinz is a concentrated polymer drilling fluid thinner that should be used as a rheology modifier to treat bit balling and drill pipe when drilling sticky, swelling clays. ClayThinz can also be used to thin the viscosity of used drilling fluid prior to disposal. ClayThinz is an amber-colored liquid that should be added directly to the drilling fluid after other additives and bentonite are mixed.
DCS Surfactant is a wetting agent that should be used to treat sticky clays in the formation. DCS Surfactant will help prevent the clay cuttings from sticking together while drilling and allow the cuttings to be more easily circulated out of the borehole. This additive also increases drilling fluid lubrication, lowers torque, and increases rates of penetration. DCS Surfactant may be used with all high-yield bentonite-based drilling fluids and with any of the DCS additives. This additive is commonly used in the DCS ClayBreaker for clay treatment. DCS Surfactant may also be used alone in short bores in clay and will greatly improve drilling conditions over using water alone. It is recommended to increase pump rates when not mixing bentonite to improve cutting circulation. DCS Surfactant pours and mixes easily in freshwater.
DCS SuperSticks quickly clean the bit and Bha with a combination of surfactants and dispersants. ReamerSticks are solid soap sticks that sweep the bottom hole and clean off clay and lubricate the bit and drill pipe. Both are packed in cardboard tubes.
TorqBreaker is a non-foaming drilling surfactant that helps eliminate bit-balling and clay rings by coating both the clay and drill pipe to prevent sticking. TorqBreaker increases the lubrication of drilling fluids and helps lower downhole torque. DCS TorqBreaker may be used with all high-yield bentonite-based drilling fluids and with any of the DCS additives. TorqBreaker may also be used alone in short bores in clay and will greatly improve drilling conditions.
FlowPac is an extremely beneficial additive for drilling in most ground conditions. Controlling filtrate, also called water loss will help stabilize formations by keeping free water from escaping the drilling fluid and causing clays to swell or get sticky or loosening sands. As secondary functions, FlowPac will moderately increase viscosity and fluid yield point and will also increase lubricity.
FlowSeal is an anionic fluid loss control agent designed for industrial drilling applications: horizontal directional drilling, mining, construction, and water well drilling. FlowSeal provides dispersibility in addition to fluid loss performance. It is recommended in situations where good mixing agitation is not available.
DCS SandMaster is an excellent rheology modifier and suspension agent that will effectively increase viscosity and the yield point of drilling fluids. SandMaster will substantially increase the gel strengths / carrying capacity of the drilling fluid to clean cuttings from the bore. SandMaster will effectively suspend and carry sand and gravel but can also be used for mixed formations of sands, clays, and silts. This will reduce borehole pressures, increase rates of penetration, and improve borehole stability. As a secondary function, SandMaster lowers filtrate (water loss) to the formation. SandMaster can be used in both bentonite-based drilling fluids and as a stand-alone drilling fluid additive for pressure-sensitive formations and complex environmental projects.
VisMax is a polysaccharide-based viscosifier designed to be used in horizontal boring, Water Well, and Mining applications. It is a rapidly hydrating polymer, which makes VisMax an economically viable solution for a xanthan replacement in freshwater.
HDD Lube is a vegetable oil-based lubricant that will increase the lubricity of any drilling fluid. Lubricating and cooling the drill string and bore is a primary function of HDD drilling fluids. Adding HDD Lube will improve lubrication in all kinds of ground conditions. This additive will reduce drill pipe torque and lower pull back pressures.
PolyMud is an easy-mixing liquid polymer that will encapsulate clay cuttings and can prevent the clay from sticking to the bit and drill pipe and control clay swelling. PolyMud is a long-chain polymer that when added directly to freshwater drilling fluids will hydrate and coat clay cuttings. PolyMud can be used as a clay-free fluid or with bentonite drilling fluids.
PolyMud Dry is an easy-mixing dry polymer powder that will encapsulate clay cuttings and can prevent the clay from sticking to the bit and drill pipe and control clay swelling. PolyMud Dry is a long-chain polymer that when added directly to freshwater drilling fluids will hydrate and coat clay cuttings. PolyMud Dry should be used as a clay-free fluid and is not recommended for mixing with bentonite fluids.
QuickSticks are wrapped in quick-dissolving tubes that can be put into the drill pipe and pumped downhole to clear clay stuck to the bit and drill pipe. Using QuickSticks will reduce torque and improve the rate of penetration.
This product is considered to be safe for use as a drilling fluid additive when used as directed. Always use this product for the purpose intended and in the dosage range recommended. DCS Super Swell is a granular polymer product that will absorb up to 500 times its original volume in water, causing it to swell into a soft form that can help plug formation fractures or fissures and stop inadvertent returns. Super Swell can be used alone or with other LCM.

SwellSticks are a convenient method for applying LCM directly down the drill pipe. SwellSticks are quick-dissolving tubes filled with DCS SuperSwell that can be pumped down the pipe on connections to slow or stop lost circulation and solve IR issues.
